Big news for the dScribe AI team! As reported by Starland News, we’ve just secured $1.2 million in funding from Abstraction Capital, Flyover Capital, Redbud VC, KCRise Fund, and EquipmentShare - a major milestone in our journey to revolutionize how developers, AI agents, and enterprises tap into video and rich-media content.
With video content now making up 82% of global internet traffic, the need for smarter, scalable tools to analyze and understand video has never been greater. Whether it’s a viral clip on social media or an internal enterprise dataset, videos hold untapped insights - and dScribe AI is here to unlock them.
Making Video Data Instantly Usable
We’re building the next-generation platform and API for video intelligence, designed to process video from any source - whether pulled from media platforms or directly from enterprise systems. Our platform uses multi-modal AI models, web scraping, and data connectors to automatically generate accurate transcriptions and unlock deep insights with simple prompts (like, “How many red cars appeared in this video?”).
Instead of struggling with complex video processing infrastructure, companies can now access real-time video insights effortlessly. It’s a game-changer for AI developers, social listening platforms, and businesses that rely on video for decision-making.
For Co-founder and CEO Jordan Mryyan, this journey started with a simple but frustrating realization: processing and extracting insights from video is far too complicated.
I’ve been working at the intersection of AI and video since beginning my career as a software engineer. While developing AI agents that leverage video data from the internet, I quickly realized how difficult it was to process and extract insights without a complex, cumbersome infrastructure. This insight led me and my co-founders to speak with developers and companies across industries, where we found a consistent trend: video data is crucial to their operations, yet there’s no straightforward way to harness it.
That’s exactly the gap dScribe AI is filling. And the impact is already being felt by customers across industries.
What Our Customers Are Saying
Hunter Hodnett, CTO and Co-founder of Chipp.ai, explained how dScribe AI transformed their AI systems:
At Chipp.ai, integrating video and podcast data into our AI systems in real time was a persistent challenge. Existing tools simply couldn’t extract the actionable, real-time insights we needed from online media. That’s when we turned to dScribe AI. Their API made it incredibly simple to transform rich-media into valuable, LLM-ready data, providing the breakthrough we had long been searching for.
And for Nirain Patel, Product Manager at Pulsar Platform, a publicly traded audience intelligence and social listening company, the ability to extract video insights at scale has been a game-changer:
With dScribe AI, we've redefined the way we extract insights from online video content. Our integration now allows us to unlock direct insights from millions of videos posted daily across social platforms. By simply providing a social video URL, we capture both visual and audio details, ensuring no critical insight is overlooked.
Partnering with the Best
One of the things we’re most excited about is that every one of our investors is deeply rooted in Kansas and Missouri. From day one, we’ve been building right here in Kansas City, and we’re backed by some of the most experienced investors and operators in the region.
Abstraction Capital
Abstraction Capital specializes in early-stage capital for technical founders building technical tools. Taylor Clauson, Managing Partner, has a strong track record in backing dev tools and infrastructure companies like Hoss (acquired by Niantic), Cortex Labs (acquired by Databricks), and Octane (acquired by Stripe). As he puts it:
What excites me most about dScribe AI is how they've cracked the code on making internet video and multimedia content truly accessible and actionable. The infrastructure the team has built is the next evolution of harnessing video data wherever it lives, whether online, in enterprise systems, or beyond.
Flyover Capital
Flyover Capital embodies the mission of backing founders who are often underestimated for no reason other than doing business in the Flyover region. We’re thrilled to work with Alexandra O’Hagan-Padron, Alexa Heying, Dan Kerr, and Patrick Berry, who bring unparalleled early-stage tech operating expertise. Their hands-on experience sets them apart - pound for pound, the Flyover team brings more early-stage tech operating muscle than any investor in the region.
Redbud VC
Redbud VC believed in us from day one. Brett Calhoun and Maria Heyen were our first checks, backing dScribe AI as true believers in our mission. Their responsiveness and grit have made a huge impact and is one of their key differentiators.
KCRise Fund
KCRise Fund deepens our KC roots. Even before they invested, Liam Reilly’s guidance was incredibly valuable to our journey. Now, we’re excited to work even more closely with him, Aaliyah Aramjoo, Ed Frindt, and Darcy Howe to scale dScribe AI with the strong network that KCRise provides in the greater Kansas City region.
EquipmentShare (valued at $3B)
Willy Schlacks (founder of EquipmentShare) has also joined as an investor. We’re excited to be working with Willy who helps us build from a first principles perspective and learn from his experience starting and scaling a multi-billion dollar company.
What’s Next?
With this new funding, we’re doubling down on our mission:
✅ Expanding our suite of video intelligence products
✅ Growing our customer base and partnerships
✅ Advancing our cutting-edge AI technology
By eliminating the technical barriers of video processing, we’re ushering in a new era of intelligent content discovery - where businesses can analyze, search, and interact with videos like never before.
We’re just getting started. 🚀
